Will we get the final episodes that we fans and the Scrubs gang deserve?— Lady
Ausiello: I just hung up with Mr. Scrubs himself, series creator Bill Lawrence, and he says "the worst-case scenario is that ABC Studios lets me make the last four episodes as a DVD. And I say it's the 'worst-case scenario' because I'm going to try as hard as I can to get NBC's support in finishing the show up on TV. I just don't have any definitive answer because I haven't been talking to them… The second we're told that we can go back to work, I'm going to give [Peacock honcho] Ben Silverman a call and say, 'Scrubs has been on NBC for seven years, and it would really be a bummer if I didn't get to end it there.' And I'm hoping I'll get a positive response. I would be surprised if NBC didn't want to figure out a way to end the series on their network." I wish I could be as optimistic. Remember, this is Ben Silverman we're talking about. The same dude who publicly dissed Friday Night Lights. And it looks like there are three new eps in the can. The final one will be Zach's baby (he directed it), the homage to The Princess Bride. You know how, every season, Scrubs tries to do one very special ep? Well, this is it for the final season. It's a huge half-hour fairy tale with costumes and locations. Apparently, the janitor's a giant, and J.D.'s the village idiot. I'm told it's amazing. Zach says they put a lot of work into it—with all the special effects and things they've never incorporated before, it's easily the most ambitious episode they've ever done.

Gayle in West Hollywood, California: I spotted Donald Faison out and about over Christmas, and I almost cried 'cause I was so excited. Can you give me some scoop on him? Is he single?
He ain't married, but he ain't single either, hon. He's still playing devoted boyfriend to Cacee Cobb (you know, Jessica Simpson's ex-assistant). Sorry, girl. The good news is, you can get your Donald fix on Scrubs when it returns later this month. I recently talked to the big D, who told me a lot of things happen in these upcoming episodes, because they knew the strike was coming and were trying to get as much in as possible. He shared that Turk and Carla will be making some big decisions, and their marriage will go in a new direction. I asked if they were contemplating a swinger lifestyle, and he said, "Swingers would be nice. For Turk. Until he sees somebody banging his wife, and then he'd get pissed off." P.S.: If guys that speak a second language turn you on, Turk's got a surprise in store for you...

Source: E!Online

Latest from Eonline...

It was like a family reunion at the Paley Center for Media last week when the cast of Scrubs met up for a farewell panel session with fans. “Look how skinny you are!” Donald Faison squealed while grabbing Zach Braff’s newly svelte midriff. “I've lost a few pounds,” Zach blushed. “I'm not afraid to admit it.”

Because of the writers' strike, Scrubs halted production last month, which means the entire cast had catching up to do. And it was the perfect climate for a tell-all with loyal viewers. “We’ll answer anything tonight,” executive producer Bill Lawrence exclaimed. “You wanna know who Zach’s dating?”

Sadly, he didn’t follow through on that particular tidbit, but we did learn quite a bit about what’s to come for our friends at Sacred Heart...Dig in for the scoop!

Carla and Turk Expecting? “Carla's definitely angling for more kids!” Judy Reyes shared excitedly. “Before [production] was cut off, she was actually scheming to that effect, in a way that Turk would respond to. I hope we get to finish that story. I can’t even imagine the lengths to which Carla will go to get pregnant again.”

J.D. Hearts Elliot Forever: “Half the audience wants them together, and half wants them apart. You can’t please everyone!” Zach insisted. But Bill Lawrence isn’t hearing any of it. He’s convinced he’s come up with the perfect way to resolve the Dorian-Reed saga before the series ends. Which way is young Braff leaning? “I'm a romantic,” he told me. “I want them to end up together. I like happy endings to love stories.”

The Jordan Show: With the writers on strike and scripted TV out of business, Bill Lawrence just may quell his boredom with a foray into reality programming. The star of his new series? Real-life wife Christa Miller, who plays Dr. Cox’s caustic spouse, Jordan: “We could do the Jordan spinoff without actually writing it. We could pretty much just film you running around at home,” he informed his better half. Her response? “Bill's new joke, when people ask if I’m anything like my character, is, ‘Christa is meaner than Jordan in real life.’ ” Oh, he kids!

Dr. Cox Will Destroy Hugh Jackman: Why is the man who played Wolverine so often the object of such venom in Perry’s weekly rants? “We just figured he would probably hate a guy that talented. He sings, he dances,” Bill Lawrence explained. “And he’s absolutely gorgeous,” added John C. McGinley. Of course, that’s not the answer Bill gave a group of Australian fans who demanded to know the reason for such bitter attacks on their beloved countryman. “I think Hugh Jackman is great,” he told them. “But John C. McGinley just hates him!”

The Todd Could Win a Grammy: “You crashed my Website,” Robert Maschio exclaimed when I saw him in the lobby. “After you wrote about "The Todd Song," so many people visited the site that it broke! They told me I exceeded the bandwidth for the day. We’re really excited about it. I had been plotting for months to do like a Beastie Boys-style rap. My brother's a musician, so he wrote the music, and I wrote the lyrics, and we’re just glad people seem to like it. Now, we’re talking about putting out a comedy-rap CD. We want to do like 10 songs.” Would they all be about the Todd’s penis? “I don't know,” he answered. “I think there are some copyright issues!”

Kelso Could Gain a Few: Is Kelso retiring? You’re damn right, Skippy! His farewell ep has already been shot and will air in January. But does he plan on staying outta sight, outta mind? “Well, you have to remember that Kelso won muffins for life!” Ken Jenkins joked about a recent storyline. “I wouldn’t bet on him going anywhere.”

The Janitor Ain't Getting Hitched: As you know, Neil Flynn has a love interest this season, and he’s thrilled: “It’s a nice gift from Bill. I think it shows that [the Janitor] is not a completely insane lunatic. They’re not going to get married or anything, but we’ll definitely see her again.” But will she spill the beans on the Janitor’s real name? “I still don’t know what it is,” Neil admitted. “I’m leaving that up to Bill. But I don’t think it’ll be anything crazy.” But it will be the end of an era. “When you know his name, you know it's over,” Mr. Lawrence shared. “That will be the end of the show.” So very SATC!

And Make No Mistake, the Show Will End: This is most definitely the last year. There will be no eleventh-hour renewal. But rest assured, the series will get its proper farewell, strike or no strike. Bill said they have not yet written the last six, but they’re already outlined, and he knows how it will all play out. “We're not going to leave a lot of loose ends undone. We're gonna wrap things up for all the fans that have stuck with us for seven years. I'm going to find a way. This doesn't sit well with Elliot and Carla, who decide to try and save his job. Also, in "My Princess" (which is directed by Zach Braff), Dr. Cox tells his son a fairy tale, with the doctors from Sacred Heart portraying the characters. J.D. is the idiot, Elliot is a princess, Dr. Cox is the noble knight, the Janitor is a giant, and Turk and Carla are a two-headed creature called Turla. I had so much fun. You were a terrific moderator and I loved your intro. — Jenny
Ausiello: Thanks for saying that. I did, too! I can't even begin to tell you what an unbelievable thrill it was to emcee the event. It was easily one of the highlights of my career — perhaps the highlight. (So far, at least. Reliable sources confirm to me exclusively that big things await me!) Not that Team Scrubs really needed a moderator. They're so instinctively funny and play off one another with such ease that all I was really left to do was watch and laugh my ass off. And if you were one of the lucky few who snagged a ticket, you know what I'm talking about. Speaking of which, as further proof that the show is far more popular than A.C. Nielsen would have you believe, not only was the event sold out, but it drew the biggest crowd for any function in the Paley Center's history. In fact, they had to add two backup screening rooms to accommodate the overflow crowd. Either that or I am way more popular than I've been led to believe. In either case, whether you're a Scrubbie or an Aushole, you'll be happy to hear there's a very good chance the event will be packaged as an extra on the show's Season 7 DVD.

Question: How will the writers' strike affect the final season of Scrubs!? — Brandon
Ausiello: In the worst way possible: If the work stoppage goes on much longer, we may never get our Scrubs series finale. "To finish this season, the strike would need to be over by mid-January/early February," Bill Lawrence told me after Saturday's event. "Once the strike ends, I'm going to do anything I can to do the finale of the show. And if that means trying to sell ABC Studios on the value of shooting those last episodes even if they were only for a special feature on the DVD, or airing them on ABC if NBC didn't want them, I will pursue every single road to make them." And that, my friends, is why we worship Bill Lawrence.

Source: TV Guide

Final Season in Jeopardy?

Thanks to Spoilertv for the following...

The chance for NBC's "Scrubs" to go out on its own terms is being jeopardized by the WGA strike, which could leave the final six installments of the comedy's 18-episode last season in indefinite limbo.

"On a personal level, yeah, it would be nice to finish work on 'Scrubs' the way I wanted to," creator-executive producer Bill Lawrence told The Hollywood Reporter. "That it looks like it's not happening is certainly disappointing, I can't lie. But it's also not the end of the world. The last thing anybody wants to hear right now is some idiot saying, 'Hey, I worked really hard on my show, I want to end it the way I want to end it!' It's hard to care right now about any legacy."

Lawrence hasn't done much in the way of stockpiling "Scrubs" episodes in anticipation of a writers walkout. There are two scripts written and ready to shoot, "and with a single-camera show, once a script is locked, you have no real rewrites," he said. "We're reverting back to some of the earlier seasons in that the really broad and goofy stuff will happen only in fantasy," he says. "I think it's really important that people give a s--t emotionally about the characters, so they go back to being really grounded. The first couple years had a lot more dramatic elements, and we're doing that a lot more." Also, look for J.D. to finally grow the hell up. "Zach Braff has essentially been playing a man-child the past seven years, a little boy that's never growing up. He has to grow up and become an adult. By the third or fourth episode, his character will be a lot different — mostly to gear up for the end of the year."

Source: Ausiello

7.03 Spoilers...

Episode 7.03 - My Inconvenient Truth: J.D. is having a hard time getting along with Kim's mother. Fans have been wondering as to how the show will bring back Wright, considering her character died towards the end of the sixth season.

Word has spread that Aloma Wright will return to the series as Laverne's twin sister, Shirley, a single alcoholic who is skeptical of religion. However, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence recently debunked the claims, telling TV Guide that Wright's new character will not have any relation to the deceased Sacred Heart nurse.

"She's coming back as a completely different character [that's] not related to Laverne in any way," Lawrence said. "And no one but J.D. [Zach Braff] sees the similarities. And he's incredulous that no one sees it."

He also said he is hoping Scrubs fans will not be turned off by this abrupt development in the show.

"It's just that Aloma's such a nice woman,” Lawrence explained. “When I thought last year was the last year, we killed her. And then it looked like it suddenly might not be the last year and I didn't want to rewrite all of those scripts. So I told her, 'Look, if we come back, I'll put you back on the show.' I don't want to take away anybody's livelihood. It's too competitive a time out there. It's not 100 percent a creative decision as much as there's only one season left and I can't take her house payments away. She is a sweet lady."

Although Aloma Wright admitted to feeling “abused” when her character was killed off for the sake of shaking things up on the series, she is grateful that Lawrence has kept his word.

"I'm glad to know he's a man of his word and I've still got a job," Wright told Variety in June.

The final season of Scrubs will start airing on Thursday, October 25.

Source: BudyTV

7.05 "My Growing Pains" Spoilers...

Episode 7.05 will be called "My Growing Pains". The show still tackles dramatic moments, like Laverne's death, well. I can't say there's been a recent episode where I wasn't annoyed by J.D.'s almost Homer Simpson-ish stupidity, Eliot's relationship with Keith, the overuse of the Janitor and the continued forcing of the J.D.-Eliot relationship down fans' throats. Other than the musical, which had every right to be outrageous — and yet was almost grounded compared to the rest of this season — the episodes had an almost Simpsons-like evolution, overplaying the more annoying aspects of the characters and losing the solid acting that made this wacky show one of the best on TV. It's still NBC's best Thursday-night comedy, but I'm a little worried about the show coming back if it's going to continue this way.— Steve

Matt Roush: Well, you only have to worry about it for one more season. I won't deny that the show often overindulges its silly, sophomoric streak — is that really a new development? — but if it didn't keep trying to up the gag quotient, I'm sure many fans would start accusing it of being lazy. The fact that the show can still pull off something as ambitious and terrific as the musical episode and still move us with a development as poignant as Laverne's death keeps it pretty high on my comedy list. (And you must really have issues with TV if you find this many problems with Scrubs and yet put it in TV's top tier.)

Source: TVguide

John McGinley gives voice to 'Dead Head Fred' [PSP Game]...

John C. McGinley has other skills besides playing the acerbic Dr. Perry Cox on the NBC sitcom Scrubs. He also has a knack for voiceover work. In fact, he'll be giving life to the inner conflict of a reanimated, headless private detective when he lends his voice to Dead Head Fred for PSP this August.

Although this is his first dip in the field of video games, this isn't his first attempt to do voiceover work. Previously, the Scrubs actor has provided the voice of Rudolph “White Stripe” Farnsworth in Kim Possible, Dr. Diente in American Dragon: Jake Long, The White Shadow in The Boondocks, and the superhero The Atom in Justice League.

Dead Head Fred features the Scrubs star as Fred Neuman, a private eye who finds himself one day without his head after being resurrected from an odd scientific experiment. Eager for revenge but left without his memory, he must now hunt down the mob boss who killed him while attempting to solve the mystery of the town's sordid and dreadful condition.

Released by D3 Publisher and produced by Vicious Cycle, Dead Head Fred is a PlayStation Portable video game set in a new genre called twisted nor, which is a mishmash of horror, gangster movies, detective motives and Hollywood crime drama.

The core gameplay revolves around Fred as looks for his missing head. Packed with action and adventure, players must explore 12 different locations set around his hometown. However, cruising through town is not that easy as it appears to be intoxicated with the mob, filled with fearful citizens, bursting with sludge, ravenous beasts and people turning into zombies. A total of nine heads can be unlocked through the course of the game, each specializing in a unique ability and offers up a different gameplay mechanic.

Dead Head Fred is scheduled for release on August 28.

Source: BuddyTV

Episode 1 details...

In the first ep, Kim and J.D. discuss getting back together, and Elliot and Keith Dudemeister fight about their wedding.

Season 7 Premiere datails...

NBC has announced that Scrubs will premiere its seventh season opener on October 25th. The 32-year-old Scrubs actor is reportedly eyeing renowned theater and film director Tom O'Horgan's Greenwich Village loft. The loft is situated in a large residential area on the west side of downtown Manhattan in New York and is currently a cosmopolitan neighborhood that has become a popular abode to many celebrities.

O'Horgan, famed for the ground-breaking musical Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and the stage adaptation of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, has owned the loft since 1970s. According to city records, the 2,500 square foot apartment is on a top floor of 840 Broadway. Coincidentally, this is also the home of actress Heather Graham, who has guest-starred on Scrubs as Dr. Molly Clock, who happens to be in the building's penthouse.

Last week, an intern from The Observer was sitting by chance near O'Horgan when the Scrubs actor approached to discuss the loft.

“I'm a tremendous fan of your work,” Braff told O'Horgan and consequently repeated his name.
A companion of O'Horgan reminded him that Braff is the young man who's buying his Greenwich Village loft.

“We haven't seen his financials, we haven't seen anything. In the old days, it would probably be no question. Now people do look at references and financials and things like that,” a longtime-owner of one of the floors who is also a co-op board member revealed to The Observer that Braff's deal isn't official yet.

O'Horgan, previously called by Newsweek as “the Petronius of theatrical decadence,” currently fills his Greenwich Village loft with his collection of global musical instruments.

“He's a true saint. He's a great guy, just an incredible human being,” the board member said referring to O'Horgan.

As of the moment, the apartment isn't officially on the market although the resident believes that “it would go for a little over $3 million.”

Source: BuddyTV

Press Tour...

According to Bill Lawrence, he believes this is the year Scrubs becomes a big hit: “We always really geared the show to peak in its seventh year.” Yes, that joke got big laughs.

Regarding the possibility of J.D. and Elliott ending up together, Lawrence says the relationship between those two is not a Sam-and-Diane, will-they-or-won’t-they sort of thing. However, he felt it was a good way to end the season, with two dysfunctional people screwing up their respective relationships. As far as whether or not the two characters belong together, Bill said he does keep up with Scrubs' passionate online fan base and, as cheesy as it might sound, will strive to give them the ending they desire when the series finale rolls around later this season.

As far as the decision to end the show on NBC rather than moving to ABC for its final year, Bill said it really wasn’t a difficult choice. He was clearly appreciative of ABC president Steve McPherson’s guarantee to pick Scrubs up if NBC had opted to cancel it. Apparently, ABC did offer an extra four eps (NBC will produce an 18-episode final season as opposed to the usual 22), but Bill shared that they really wanted to finish the show’s run where they began.

Zach is looking forward to the final season: “There’s something really exciting about saying ‘Okay, there are 18 more.’ I think it will reinvigorate [the cast and crew]. We’ve had pretty much the same crew since the beginning, and as cliché as it might sound, it really is a family. [It’s really nice to be] going out with a bang, and going out the way Bill wanted to.”

Source: Kristin
